How it would work

Three steps from connection to coordinated action

RadLucent Flow is designed as an operational layer that sits alongside existing radiology systems detecting workflow exceptions, surfacing context, and helping teams coordinate resolution without replacing the tools they already use.

RadLucent Flow is designed to support operational and workflow coordination only. It would not interpret medical images, contribute to diagnostic decisions, or replace clinical judgement. All diagnostic responsibility remains with qualified clinicians.

01

Connect

Designed to integrate with existing systems

RadLucent Flow is proposed as a vendor-neutral layer that would connect to existing RIS, PACS and integration infrastructure. Rather than replacing established systems, it is designed to read workflow state across them identifying where examinations are, what has happened, and what may be preventing progress.

The proposed approach would use standard integration interfaces where available, minimising the need for bespoke development and reducing the burden on technical teams during deployment.

02

Identify and explain

Surface exceptions with context, not just alerts

Once connected, RadLucent Flow is designed to detect workflow exceptions examinations that have stalled, deviated from expected pathways, or triggered conditions that may indicate a problem. Rather than generating a raw alert, the platform is intended to surface structured context: what the exception is, where it sits in the workflow, and what information is available to help teams understand it.

This is not diagnostic interpretation. RadLucent Flow would work at the level of operational workflow state — not image content. The goal is to give operational and technical teams the information they need to act, without adding noise or requiring them to navigate multiple systems to piece together what has happened.

03

Coordinate

Help teams act together, not in parallel

Workflow exceptions in radiology often require input from more than one team - operational staff, technical support, clinical leads, or vendor contacts. RadLucent Flow is designed to support coordinated resolution: routing exceptions to the right people, tracking progress, and maintaining a record of what was done and when.

The aim is to reduce the time spent chasing updates across email chains, phone calls and support tickets — and to give teams a shared view of what is outstanding, what is in progress, and what has been resolved.

Still in development

RadLucent Flow is a concept under active development. We are seeking conversations with radiology operational teams, clinical informatics leads, and technical partners to test and refine these ideas. If this resonates with challenges you are working on, we would welcome the conversation.
